And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
- Prayer, Meditation & Fasting: The Pursuit of Communion With God
- Seminar Leader: John Piper, Pastor for Preaching & Vision, Chancellor of Bethlehem College and Seminary
- November 2/3: Friday, 7:00pm–10:00pm & Saturday, 9:00am–Noon
- Bethlehem Baptist Church, North Campus
The source of joy and power in the Christian life ultimately springs from a vital, daily communion with God in and through Jesus. What does it mean to hunger for and feed on God? Jesus said, “I have food to eat that you do not know about” (John 4:32). What is this food?
This seminar is designed to teach on the biblical disciplines of prayer, meditation, and fasting from the radically God-centered, Christ-exalting, Christian-hedonistic point of view taught in the Scriptures. The life-transforming power unleashed by the gospel-motivated, grace-filled pursuit of these disciplines will be celebrated and, God willing, the roots of legalism will be severed. The seminar will include presentation and Q&A time.
